Miyazaki’s filmography includes visually stunning and heart-achingly sweet animated works like “Spirited Away,” “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind,” and “Howl’s Moving Castle.” With a deft and subtle hand, Miyazaki instilled poignant messages into his movies, and with a still deft and subtle hand, he inspired my trip to Famima! for onigiri after watching Chihiro weep into one of the stuffed rice cakes.
